COMPASS Group, the beleaguered contract caterer, has made 200 of its top management redundant as part of the £50 million cost-cutting programme announced in May. ESS, which is part of the multi-million pound Compass Group, has been accused of using the Covid-19 pandemic to âstealâ the working weeks and cut the pay of outsourced workers on Ministry of Defence contracts. The company today reported the âinvaluable roleâ of their team in the efforts in NHS hospitals and critical services up and down the country. Compass Group said that the increasingly tighter restrictions on travel and social gatherings are expected to cost them from 25 per cent to 30 per cent of its revenue.
